"And behold, it was very good!"

"Thank you," is a good prayer.  So is, "God, help me!"  Prayers don't have to be long and flowery in order to  be good.  They just need to be from the heart!  

There's hardly a prayer any better than one in which you ask for the knowledge of God's will in your life and the power to carry it out.  We don't need to ask for specifics, for our needs are already known.  In fact, we can limit our good by being too specific!  We really just want what is best, so it's best to leave that up to God.  We find that asking for "things" implies that "things" are what's really important.  What's really important is that we align our will with the will of God, and be an open channel for Good to flow.  

More powerful than praying for what we think we "need," is indeed giving thanks for what we have.  The answers to prayer are so often already at hand, we just don't know what they are.  So give thanks and ask to be shown!  That's about it!  And then do your part.  Faith without works is dead.  But, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive!  The answers already exist, and they have since the beginning of time.

We hope you find our messages here on Genesis 1 to be life-enriching.  Many of the entries will be about prayer and meditation.  Many more entries will be about the Good that surrounds us, fulfills us and sustains us.  In the beginning it was all good.  Our posts are about finding that same goodness today.  

We are an interspiritual church.  Please read the About Section to gain a deeper understanding of how that applies.  Basically that means we are a church of the God of your own understanding.  We merely agree God is Good, God is Love, God is Life.  It is in this spirit we offer our prayers.
