Fast Forward to Today!

Hello!  It’s been…wow!…a couple of years since writing in Genesis 1.  Let me catch you up on what’s new!

First, and most importantly, we moved to a beautiful setting with 9.14 acres of land!  But wait….fast forward to today and we new have expanded to 32.64 acres!!  What are we going to do with all that?  Create a farm sanctuary and wildlife habitat, of course!  Evans Heaven is what it is called.

Soon we will also be building a new church on this land!  (Don’t worry, we still have our Little Church in the Barn!)

We believe there is no greater connection to God, each other, and our true selves than through LOVE.  What better way to learn about love than to take care of those who can do nothing for us in return.  We don’t breed and sell, we don’t fatten up for supper, we don’t sell eggs or use donkeys for pulling a plow.  We only have animals here to offer them LOVE.  But we do get something in return…they have a great ability to give love in return!  Without judgement.  Just plain unconditional LOVE.

So far we have rescued three dogs, two mini horses, two mini donkeys, three potbelly pigs and two bunnies.  This is in addition to the six cats we already had…five now, so it seems, one is missing.  (We’re very sad about that.  She has been with us for nine years.)

We plan to get chicks, ducks and turkeys next spring, followed by lambs, goats, cows and possibly an alpaca or two.  Maybe even a full-sized horse and some farm pigs!  These animals have so much to face in a world that only sees them as slaves, meals, entertainment…objects to use as they please.

We need volunteers, near and far.  The work is obvious for those who are near.  We need people to feed, brush, clean up after them.  Lots and LOTS of work!  We need people to volunteer, too, from wherever they are, to help us in gathering information about each of the breeds, research solutions to problems for us, help us with getting donations…and more.  If you have the time, we have the tasks!

We are also developing the land for other uses, such as expanding our gardening program, The Learning Garden.  We have already planted a small orchard, but now that we have the increased land mass, we’ll be planting much more!  Won’t it be nice once our garden is established to be able to give a way food?  What’s even nicer is we want to encourage people to grow their own.  You can even grow food in an apartment!

We have started the Indigo Children’s Program and we’re very much looking forward to developing that in all areas.  We envision it as a place children of all ages can come and learn about life through working with animals, being in nature, cultivating the land, taking part in musical adventures, making art and creating a future that’s much more compassionate than so much of what we see today in the world.  We also have need of volunteers in this program.  We want to expand it into a homeschool support program, but for now we’re doing events and Indigo Sunday School.  We currently have two teachers, both licensed.  Welcome Candice Zawoiski and Dana Grande to our team!

Other changes which have occurred…we are now holding our Interspiritual Service on the first Sunday of every month at 11 a.m., instead of on Tuesday nights as we have historically done.  This is due to the move.  Once the new church is built we will return to a weekly format.

Another change…instead of only serving raw vegan food at our events, we have recently begun serving cooked vegan food, too.  This is so more people might try eating plant-based at home.  We will still have workshops on raw food preparation, and we also have published a book entitled, “Raw Kid Power:  How to Develop Your Child’s Super Powers Through the Use of Raw Plant-Based Nutrition.”  It will be available on Amazon soon, but for now you can order directly through us.

We have been working on dotting our i’s and crossing our t’s legally speaking.  We are now registered with the State of Ohio as a nonprofit corporation!  Hooray!  This assures us of Separation of Church and State.  Next step, we are in the process of submitting for our 501(c)3 status with the IRS.  We are also in the process of formally writing our Policies and Procedures and establishing our Board of Directors.  Busy, busy, busy!  Anyone with experience and/or time to help, let us know.  We are also busy getting our website up.

Essentials of Life Holistic Enrichment Center is a great place to get more involved in.  We are creating so many educational programs which coincide with our internship and apprenticeship programs.  Volunteers always get reduced rate or free classes!  (Mostly free!)  This applies to all of the members of our Leadership Team.  Reduced rates on products and services, too!  And even better, you get to be a part of our contribution to healing the world, one person…one animal…at a time.

Keep an eye out for updates to the website.  We will be adding products over time, too.  It is our goal to make it easy and affordable for you to be able to put into action all that we teach.  We will be listing everything from supplements, to food items, to massage tables, to dog food…you name it!  We are a nonprofit, and as such, we are happy to extend lower prices to you.  Money is not our goal.  Money will help us in paying the bills and feeding the flock, but our main concern is that we create a win/win/win situation for all!

Without the tools, supplies, ingredients, etc., it’s all just blah, blah, blah, blah.  We want to be more than that.  We want to be a resource for good so you can implement into your life what you learn.

You can read more of these updates on our blog.  You can access it from the Home page of  What I wish to discuss here is of deeper importance.  I wish to tell you how all of this growth and expansion occurred.  It occurred because it was in accordance with Perfect Timing in God’s Perfect Plan!  Yep!  That’s what I attribute it to!

You see, this vision has been in existence for many, many years.  My whole life was preparing me for what’s to come, and I made a promise to God in 1968 to use the awareness granted to me for the good of all.  Since that time, good times and bad have been dedicated to this unfolding vision of love.  My life took me to both ends of the spectrum between embracing all of life and wishing I would just die.  Trying to make it happen in fact, only to be saved and confronted with the promise I made.

I have worked hard to recover from hardship; I’ve worked hard to learn what I needed to learn in order to be of some help to the world; and I’ve worked hard offering myself in service how I have been led.  Spirit has led me on journeys through healing body, mind and spirit, in my own life and in my studies and work.  I have worked in counseling settings, social work settings, religious settings and educational settings.  I am now a minister and naturopathic doctor…and a recovering human, recovering from many addictions, injuries and woes, just like so many on this planet earth are.

Our Little Church in the Barn came about as a blessing.  We refurbished an old storage barn and filled it with people, with love and with peace.  We have had so many wonderful dinners, services and other events there.  So many prayers have been prayed in our labyrinth.  We have a labyrinth in our Learning Garden.  It is a prayer labyrinth shaped like a heart.  In the center is a bench which just so happens to have farm animals pictured on it.  We have walked the labyrinth in prayer and sat on that bench, as individuals and as a group, many times over the years.  Then came a time when I felt the urgency to expand our territory.  I felt it deep in my soul.

I walked that labyrinth with this thought in prayer for two months, and then the way was made clear and the next thing you know, we were on over 9 acres of beautiful land!!  Without having to sell our Little Church in the Barn in order to buy!  WOW!  That seemed impossible, but it occurred!  It occurred because it was God’s will.  What is God’s will?  God’s will is always the best for all, and this is.  This land is entrusted to us, I believe, because we are a home-based church wishing to share.

And now, two years later, the land surrounding this new property went up for auction.  We were blessed to be able to purchase an addition 23.5 acres!  The signs went up just three weeks ahead of time, and again, the situation was taken into holy prayer and the resources were somehow provided to us.  It seemed impossible, but nothing is impossible if it’s meant to be.  I knew when we first saw this land when we initially moved, that we would more of what was surrounding it.  Now, even though our finances said no, the answer was YES.

These same principles can hold true in all of our lives.  We are a church and working for the good of so many, but you are a mom or a dad or a son or daughter…a neighbor, a cousin a co-worker, a parent, a friend.  You are a human being with the opportunity to do good for other people, for animals and for the earth!  God will support you in that!  Dedicate your life…spirit, mind and body…to doing the work you believe in that will benefit others, and you will be provided the way.  It may take time…maybe years…but if you hold steadfast to your dream, you will succeed, so long as it is in the best interest of all and not for selfish motives.  I guarantee this is true!

It takes a lot of hard work.  Faith without works is dead!  But believing in your dreams is the first place to start.  The word, “desire,” means “of the father.”  If you wish it to be, it can be!

God bless you and it’s good to be back writing again.  Thank you for being with us!

Vibraceously Yours,

Rev. Dr. Jody Evans, ND
